FRIS! Nomadic art platform in Drenthe

About this activity.

FRIS! is a new nomadic art platform that brings young, talented artists from the North to unique venues in Drenthe. From tranquil to surprising locations, for small-scale or large-scale art events, where tranquillity, space, nature and history come together. FRIS! aims to become the go-to place where artists, art lovers and collectors can meet. A place to build networks, purchase art or where new creative ideas emerge.

The first edition of FRIS! showcases work by 13 artists who have completed an art degree in Groningen over the past 10 years: Jhonie van Boeijen, Marianne Brouwer, Kamile Cesnaviciute, Luna van Duursen, Eirik Jahnsen, Lieve van Loon, Tirza Mafi, Anne Mensinga, Abiha Naderi, Olivia Niuman, Bas Schippers, Elise van Staveren and Katayoon Valamanesh.

FRIS! is an initiative by Jeanine de Boer (ARTeria Art Agency, Dwingeloo) and Renate Coenraad (Enarte Art Consultancy & Coaching, Steenwijk). With the launch of FRIS!, they are also celebrating 30 years of entrepreneurship in the arts. They are doing so at a distinctive venue, Galerie Dwingeloo (next to Havezate Westrup), where they are also developing the latest artist-in-residence programme in Drenthe on commission.

You are warmly invited to raise a glass with us on Friday 11 September at 4:00 p.m. Ger van Dam and Wilma Kuiper (art collectors and owners of MALcollection) will give a short introduction to collecting visual art. On Thursday 10 September between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., there will be an open evening; you are welcome to stay the night and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings.
