Erica Scheper (Creil 1974)
'In my work, I like to focus the spotlight on things we easily pass by in everyday life, but represented in such a way that it makes you stop and think. Everyday objects like caravans, power sockets, IKEA furniture and postcards; they raise questions about (good) taste, authenticity, consumer society and the choices we make. I am currently working on a series of paintings of origami animal figures. I am captivated by the many possibilities of a sheet of paper, by the simplicity and at the same time the complexity of the figures. Just shifting the focus from what is wrong in the world to the beauty of something small. A beautifully made piece of paper. Folded into a funny little animal with attention and pleasure. And then painting that.'
Erica Scheper graduated from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem in 2005 in Free Art. She has been living and working in Groningen ever since.

Beth Wong (Hong Kong 1998)
'I am a collector of poetic fragments from the urban fringe. Built on painterly and calligraphic foundations, my work explores the theme of the desire to belong through observation, memory and translation of my immediate surroundings. Spurred by the need to reconcile emotional desires, I embrace intuition, gentleness and minimalism, producing nuanced narratives of silence through visual metaphors that invite reflection. Positioned between literalness and abstraction, ambiguity and transparency, and indirectness and sincerity, I lay out a garden where preserved moments and subtle observations flourish.'
Beth Wong holds an MFA in Painting from the Frank Mohr Institute (2023) and a BA in Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (2019). The Mondriaan Fund supports her with the contribution Artists Start (2025). She lives and works in Groningen.
