Coming soon to Kunstpunt: Purple Carrot Collective - Still & Printed
About this activity.
This summer, Kunstpunt will present work by Purple Carrot Collective, a collective of six visual artists and designers united by a shared passion for printmaking. Although they share a screen-printing studio, each artist has developed a distinct visual language and artistic practice.
For this exhibition, titled Still & Printed, each artist created a still life in their own unique style. Alongside this series of still lifes, the exhibition also features a selection of each member's independent work. On view are prints—including lithographs, screen prints, risograph prints and linocuts—as well as ceramics. All works in the exhibition are available for loan and/or purchase.
About Purple Carrot Collective
Purple Carrot Collective is a Groningen-based artists' collective consisting of Mirthe van Wermeskerken (1998), Phebe Bakker (1999), Tessa Spijker (1995), Renée Ensing (1998), Sanne Boekel (1995) and Merel Wendt (1999). Together they share a screen-printing studio, while each artist works in their own distinctive style, united by a shared love of printmaking.
The collective was founded in 2021 during the pandemic by a group of artists who were studying Illustration at Academie Minerva at the time. Some members have been part of the collective from the beginning, while others joined later. Still and Busy marks their first group exhibition.
Purple Carrot Collective's Selection
Alongside their own work, the collective presents a personal selection from the Kunstuitleen art collection. The works reflect the artists' shared appreciation for printmaking techniques, as well as common themes and interests. All works in this presentation are also available for loan or purchase.
Studio Collection
Still & Printed is part of the Studio Collection: Solo exhibition series. Through this series, Kunstpunt Groningen presents work directly from the studios of artists from the Northern Netherlands. In doing so, Kunstpunt supports artists in their professional practice while offering visitors the opportunity to discover, view, borrow or purchase new work on a regular basis.
Opening
The exhibition opens on Thursday 20 August at 4.00 pm. The opening is free and open to everyone. We warmly welcome you!
