Merel Wendt (Zwolle, 1999) is an illustrator, print maker and bottle enthusiast.  In 2021, she graduated Cum Laude from Academie Minerva Groningen in Illustration and Animation Designhe obtained her BA in Illustration and Animation Design cum laude at Academie Minerva Groningen. She works with analogue techniques, such as lithography, screen printing, ceramics and pencil.  Objects suchs as bottles, jerrycans, teeth and glass are an inexhaustible source of inspiration to her and always function as the characters in her work. As a maker, she tries to visualise her fascination for their form by bending and manipulating their properties, such as shape, color and size. She stretches them, blows them up and exaggerates them. In this way she hopes to reacquaint the viewer with these familiar objects.
