Yang-ha

Yang-ha (1994) is a visual artist and painter based in South Korea en The Netherlands. In 2021 she graduated from the Frank Mohr Institute.

“On Google Street View, there was a bunny. She was jumping along the street with all her energy. She couldn’t, however, land on her house. She’s been frozen in a picture someplace on the internet.
I drew her ight with a rainbow pencil, piece by piece, to remember her journey. She is ying over my house, surrounded by oating clouds. She, like me, is trapped in this pandemic. But, she continues her path with me. I’m still drawing her ying every single day. This November, I’ll present her traces at Space _ in Seoul. At that time, her ight is no longer on papers anymore. It’ll take to the air and she’ll go back to her home.”

About project 'Lucht'

The corona measures have hit the art sector enormously. Exhibitions and art grants have been canceled or postponed. It is an uncertain time for many artists. With the Lucht project, Kunstpunt Groningen wants to support artists and designers from the municipality of Groningen. 87 Groningen artists have received a stipend with which they have created new work, including Yang-ha. With a billboard exhibition from September 27 to October 17, we present all artists spread throughout the city of Groningen. View the work of the other artists here.
