Tsjisse Talsma

Tsjisse Talsman (1995) is an illustrator and co-founder of the illustration collective Knetterijs.

“This project encompasses school posters that provide a glimpse into figurative worlds. Landscapes built with wild brushstrokes and figures reduced to their essence. Through a mosaic of recognizable and unrecognizable objects and figures I play with the associative capacity of the viewer “In this way I lead the viewer through a mixture of disorientation and recognition to stir up the fantasy. Inspired by MA Koekoek’s school posters from the last century, I try to recreate the wonder of an undiscovered world.”

About project 'Lucht'

The corona measures have hit the art sector enormously. Exhibitions and art grants have been canceled or postponed. It is an uncertain time for many artists. With the Lucht project, Kunstpunt Groningen wants to support artists and designers from the municipality of Groningen. 87 Groningen artists have received a stipend with which they have created new work, including Tsjisse Talsma. With a billboard exhibition from September 27 to October 17, we present all artists spread throughout the city of Groningen. View the work of the other artists here.
