Anne Stalinski

Anne Stalinski (1989) is an illustrator and makes a time capsule of ‘the past year’.

“Who is waiting for that, you may ask? Now perhaps few, but according to experts, we will remember little of the corona year (as if it stayed with one year) because the days were similar and our brains were overstimulated with new plot twists and catastrophes. That is why I try to capture the zeitgeist in a number of short visual stories and drawings. As documentation, but also as a contemplative essay; what does it mean to live in a world that suddenly shows its insecurity? Were we ever safe? Will we ever be that again? With an eye for the seriousness of the situation, but certainly not without humor and a touch of absurdity. The end result will be a physical book, possibly a few blog posts and some large drawings.”

About project 'Lucht'

The corona measures have hit the art sector enormously. Exhibitions and art grants have been canceled or postponed. It is an uncertain time for many artists. With the Lucht project, Kunstpunt Groningen wants to support artists and designers from the municipality of Groningen. 87 Groningen artists have received a stipend with which they have created new work, including Anne Stalinski. With a billboard exhibition from September 27 to October 17, we present all artists spread throughout the city of Groningen. View the work of the other artists here.
