Interactive artwork for flats in the Oosterpark district
Art commissions for companies
Client: SLAG (Stichting Literaire Projecten Groningen)
Hans Geluk created artwork in the Wielewaalflat and the Groenling in the Oosterpark district. The artworks are the result of a Kunst-op-Maat commission from SLAG (Groningen foundation of literary projects). SLAG created the commission in response to the poem De Wielewaal, written by former city poet Rense Sinkgraven. The current city poet Kasper Peters also wrote De Groenling at the request of SLAG. Geluk gave both poems form in two contemporary works of art at a central location in the flats. The work is interactive: the whole poem can only be read if several people move the sensors at the same time. By forcing this interaction, the artist intends to increase human contact between residents and passers-by. The works of art were unveiled by district councillor Roeland van der Schaaf.
