High Tea Table – Daan den Houter (2019)

Temporary art in public spaces

The CBK brought Daan den Houter’s High Tea Table to Groningen especially for the inspiration festival Let’s Gro.  At first glance, they are pretty big picnic tables. But if you sit at this 2.4-metre-high table, it might give you a different perspective on the world. Together with your table mates, you create your own island in the sky and look out over the people. On the tables on the Grote Markt, the CBK organised table talks in which inhabitants could participate in discussing topics that are important to them in the city.

The social sculptures are created by multidisciplinary artist Daan den Houter, who lives and works in Rotterdam.
