Expo stand for Wonen & Co – De Beurs (2007), Martiniplaza, Groningen

Art commissions for companies

Client: GO! evenementen & communicatie/ Hazewinkel Pers BV

From 22 to 25 March, attendees could find everything related to the home at the interior/exterior design exhibition Wonen & Co in Martiniplaza. The theme was “Hear, See & Live”. The expo was full of things to do: workshops, demonstrations, a design competition, presentations, special activities and advice on interior and exterior design.

Kunst op Maat asked designer Largoleone to design a stand for six other designers working in Groningen. He gave the concept of his design the title Tube Out! Largoleone describes this concept as follows: Tubes are part of what makes comfortable living possible. All the energy you use in your home enters your home through tubes. These are hidden in the walls and ground and even run through the air. For me, tubes are an essential and inextricable element of living.

In Largoleone’s design, the invisible tubes become visible. At the expo, the six designers displayed their work, surrounded by a network of tubes and connections. The six designers were: Jack Brandsma, Gerard de Hoop, Ward Huting, Lambert Kamps, Han Koning and Tjeerd Veenhoven.

In the central hall, expo visitors were given a preview of the stand in the form of a PVC gate. This included monitors on which the designers could be seen at work in the stand.
