Peter Musschenga

Designer, Design, Spatial work, Art in public space

Peter Musschenga (1969) works as a multidisciplinary designer and artist.

After graduating as a graphic designer from the Minerva Academy of Visual Arts in 1998, he started his own design studio and works on corporate identities, websites, stage designs and spatial installations. He is also a guest lecturer in photography.

He works for a variety of clients: from theater to legal consultancy, from advisory committee to library, from marketing agency to cultural temple.

In his spatial work, the emphasis has shifted from the stage to public spaces in recent years. In the city of Groningen, the light artwork SHA_RE in the University Library and the multimedia installation on the ground floor in the Forum are his well-known works.

In 2021 he won the London International Creative Competition (LICC) with an autonomous work, the floating installation Pondering Around for Folly Art Norg.

In the autumn of 2023, Peter did an Artist Residency on the Brazilian island of Ilhabela.
