As a visual artist, I work a lot with the subject of the body, looking for example at how our bodies relate to our brain and our environment. My fascination with the body started in sports and in the last couple of years, found its way into my artistic practice. In my work ‘The knowledge of the body’ (2022) I, for example, explored body memory and wanted to capture the precision and accuracy with which our bodies respond to the environment. In many of my previous works, the body steps into the foreground, but last year I began an investigation into when and where the body disappears into the background. Since then, my work has become a play between, on the one hand, the absent and, on the other hand, the present body. My works are often audiovisual, in which I combine images and videos in installations, but I also make artists’ books, films and performances. 

Since graduating in 2022 from the Fine Art program at Academy Minerva, I have been active as a visual artist mainly in Friesland and Groningen.
