Lianne Regtuit is a Groningen-based bio-based artist and designer. In her work, she explores the hidden beauty of natural processes and micro-organisms, bringing together art, science and nature. Through her project ‘Flourish & Fungi’, she transforms decay into creation by cultivating fungi and bacteria on a nutrient medium she has developed herself, with the artwork emerging through time, growth and transformation.

By making the invisible visible, her work invites the viewer to look at the world differently, giving rise to new perspectives on the relationship between humans and nature, characterised by wonder and awareness.

Alongside her own art practice, she sells prints of her artworks and handmade products, amongst other things, via her online shop Past & Petal (www.pastandpetal.com). 

Her work was recently (until 21 June 2026) on display in the exhibition Mystic Microcosms: The Hidden Beauty of Micro-organisms at the University Museum Groningen: rug.nl/museum/exhibitions/2026/mystic-microcosms
