Spatial work, Art in public space

Gardella belongs to the select group of monumental sculptors - the third generation of sculptors of the National Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam, called: "the Group of Figurative Abstraction". His bronze sculptures, drawings and paintings show dynamics, movement, space and beauty. Gardella is always busy capturing movement and emotion. On paper he quickly sketches the movement of, for example, dancing models.

In all designs that Gardella creates, the balance between the architecture of a park, square or building, the wishes of the client and the aesthetics are the starting points. In this way, Gardella creates a relationship between the artwork and the environment. His monumental bronze sculptures can be viewed in parks and cities throughout the Netherlands.

The NPS (Nederlandse Programma Stichting / English: Dutch Programme Foundation) made a documentary film about the work and life of Gardella for the TV program Van Gewest tot Gewest entitled Vaart in de Beelden. Gardella lives and works in Garnwerd.
