Drawing

In 2015, I graduated from Academie Minerva in Groningen, where I completed the program in Art and Design Education. Alongside my work as a teacher, I am active as a visual artist with an autonomous drawing practice. I work almost exclusively with charcoal on large-scale paper.

My work focuses on spaces in which tension emerges through the interplay of geometry, architecture, and light. I document these spaces using Polaroid and digital photography and carefully reconstruct them in the studio with chalk and paper. By intensively saturating the paper, black becomes a dominant element, while the remaining light creates a strong sense of depth and a monumental presence.

My work has been exhibited at various locations, including Galerie Noord, Museum Thijnhof, K38, and Museum Nienoord.
