As a visual artist, I examine people and their  environment. My origins and identity serve as my starting point. Self-portraits emerge in drawings/paintings, collages, textile gauze sculptures, and ceramics. I focus on the position of being the center of attention or, conversely, being inconspicuous. How do materials connect, how do they hang, stand, or lie, and where do they exist in space? With my background in movement and sports, I choose to create stills of human figures in action. The gauze sculptures are stylized, transparent, yet present. The work refers  to the passage of time.
