Brigit van der Werff was born in 1958 in Groningen, after graduating from Academy Minerva in 1991, she won the Centraal Beheer prize for painting. Since then she has worked as an autonomous visual artist and drawing and painting teacher. She also founded her company Stories Connect, in which she connects life stories from all over the world in blouses made of multicolored fabrics.

One's own life is the source from which she draws. The childhood, the family, the mother with the curlers, the toys, the school books, the formal language of the sixties. Her works are not images, not pictures solidified in time, but revitalizations, reviving memories and coloring them with the experience of today. It moves between then and now. In the interspace life happens - and the eloquence of the work.
