Black, colourm light and movement

Her work shows affinity with the American European modernist tradition.

In the beginning she reduces the visible (often landscape) reality to an essence, which can be seen in layered compositions of colour, rhythm, light-dark contrasts and matter. Subsequently, the work separates from its original sources and develops into new painterly worlds. One work arises from another. The paintings are built up very carefully, layer by layer, both fluidly and pasty, and then scraped off again, until the desired expression in skin is achieved.

The result is a play of shapes, colors and lines that appear and disappear again.

In her latest series of paintings she works from grids. She then breaks this order with a play of geometric shapes, in which the intensely layered paint skin is alternated with structures in black.

Disciplines: Currently mainly drawing and painting.
