One, two, three (Een, twee, drie)

About this artwork.
These works of art were installed on three blind end gables of the flats on the Van Ketwich Verschuurlaan, which forms the southern boundary of the Wijert. They consist of three objects of 63 spheres, 63 squares and 63 pyramids; together 189 elements, each separately mounted on the wall. Each object forms, as it were, an artistic signpost. The residents of De Wijert wanted more landmarks in their neighbourhood; the repetitive layout of the identical building blocks sometimes makes it difficult to orientate. The spheres, squares and pyramids lend recognition, as do the red, yellow and blue tableaus on three other apartment buildings on the Van Ketwich Verschuurlaan, which were created by Frans Franssen.
