About this artwork.

At the entrance and in the hall of the building at Phebensstraat 1 is a mosaic with images from nature: water, sun, birds, fish. It refers to the building's former function. From 1958 the head office of the N.V. Waterleiding Bedrijf was located here. Today the building houses the Tio Business School and Luzac Groningen.

About the assignment.

The mosaic was commissioned by the staff association of N.V. Waterleidingbedrijf. Designer of the artwork and also architect of the building is H.T. Mertens jr. N.V. Goedewaagen in Gouda made the mosaic.
