Glitter Marking the Old City Wall ( Glitterstenen markering oude stadswal)
Saar Oosterhof
About this artwork.
In the pavement on Pelsterstraat, look down at your feet and marvel at the glitter that appears at irregular intervals. Many passers-by walk over these stones without even noticing where they’re placing their feet. Until the sun shines and the stones begin to sparkle.
The hologram-effect these stones radiate allows these inanimate objects to change shape and depth. Each one is handmade by the artist and contains a special mixture of resin, colour pigments and glitter. These glitter stones do more than just sparkle, however. They also mark the route of the old city wall.
