Four paintbrushes (Vier penselen)
Niells A.F. Niemeijer
About this artwork.
Four enlarged paintbrushes protrude from a concrete container in a schoolyard. On the handles are the names of the institutions that form part of Vensterschool Schilderswijk. These painting attributes refer to the name “Schilderswijk”. The image also acts as a marker.
Niells Niemeijer was commissioned to create this artwork for the redevelopment around Vensterschool Schilderswijk. Across the street, behind the residential block, a garden was laid out in 2008. The sculpture in this garden, a metal easel, is also by Niemeijer.
