About this artwork.

The bronze figure is thin and girlish, but her upright posture and gaze indicate determination and self-confidence. Her hair, face and clothing are distinguishable via the use of subtle lines and textures. In the sculpture Annelies de Jong depicts adolescence: the transition from youth to adulthood.
