Installation by Margriet van Weenen at Noorderzon

Every year, Kunstpunt Groningen and Noorderzon Festival of Performing Arts & Society ask a Groningen artist to create a work of art for the Noorderzon Festival. This year, it is Margriet van Weenen. Visitors can become part of her installation I WAS HERE – In Search of the Polar Wind, Between Waters. “With the installation, I would like to tell the story of the changing landscape,” Margriet explains. “A lot comes together in it, and I hope that everyone who sees and experiences this installation will feel the connection with the landscape, history and the future.” The installation can be seen and visited from 22 August in the Noorderplantsoen, on the corner of Moesstraat and Kruissingel.

Step into the Installation

Festival visitors have the opportunity to become part of the work of art. They can wrap a blue cape around themselves, put on headphones and travel through time during the week from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and at the weekend from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free.
