On Saturday, March 28, the festive season opening of Volkshortus Selwerd will take place. After three successful seasons, we are celebrating the start of the new season together with residents, partners, and everyone involved.
Volkshortus Selwerd is a greenhouse and meeting place for local residents, conceived by artists Saskia Janssen and George Korsmit. Here, residents grow plants, flowers, vegetables, and herbs together, reflecting the diversity of the neighborhood.
During the opening, you can draw (fantasy) flowers on a large tablecloth, browse the first issue of the Volkshortus Magazine, join a bingo with fun green prizes, taste honey from Stadsgoud, and enjoy snacks by Shaina. Of course, you can also plant seeds yourself and experience the atmosphere of the Volkshortus.
Volkshortus Selwerd was commissioned by Kunstpunt Groningen in collaboration with the Municipality of Groningen and housing corporation Nijestee.
