WEPHOST #7: film screening PFSL#02
About this activity.
Port Futures and Social Logistics (PFSL) is organizing the film screening PFSL#02 at WEP, an international film series featuring works by more than twenty artists from seven countries. Building on the success of PFSL01, we are presenting new, site-specific short videos exploring the cultural, ecological, and logistical dimensions of ports, rivers, coastal areas, and the sea.
PFSL#02 adds new insights to an ongoing dialogue about how the cultural, ecological, and logistical dimensions of circulation are evolving globally and are perceived by the participating artists. The footage depicts, for example, pressing environmental issues, new technological developments, or artistic research on the water or in a port city.
The 45-minute film screening in WEP will be followed by a discussion with several artists, including Jan Derk Diekema (NL) and Michael Kress (DE), who contributed work to the project.
PFSL#02 will travel from late 2025 to early 2026 to venues such as the Audio Foundation (Auckland, New Zealand), Zou-No-Hana Terrace (Yokohama, Japan), HyCp Veddel (Hamburg, Germany), WEP (Groningen, Netherlands), Harvard Graduate School of Design (Cambridge, Massachusetts), and ATHICA (Athens, Georgia).
PFSL#02 was curated by the platform’s initiators: James Enos, Annie Simpson, and Jan Derk Diekema, with special thanks to Stephen Ramos.
