"Was übrig bleibt"

Kunstlievend Genootschap Pictura
19 November 2022 to 31 December 2022

About this activity.

“Was übrig bleibt” is an exhibition with the work of eleven female photographers.

Pandemic. Drought. Climate change. Polarization. distrust. disinformation. Conspiracy theories. Overconsumption. War. These are just a few of a large number of human factors that influence and even permanently change our reality.

We must learn to relate to this new, sometimes turbulent, reality. How do we survive when everything seems to be breaking down? Are there any stories, dreams, ideals to pursue? Who are we, how do we react and where are we going?

The eleven female artists who join forces in this exhibition under the title 'Wås übrig bleibt' are each looking for a foundation, a source from which they can draw to stay connected with life. They peel off as many layers as possible to discover what is left in the end. Photography is their common basis, although some deviate quite far from it.

Pictura shows work by Monique Baan, Maria Dabrowski, Jasmijn Duterloo, Mariëlle Gebben, Gosia Kaliściak, Dorota Marcinkiewicz, Johanna von Oldershausen, Elsa Parant, Hanna Snijder, Paulien Menzel and Karlijn van Diepen.

Pictura.
