Museum De Buitenplaats presents a selection of still lifes and still images from its own collection. The exhibition Verstild Bezit – Het Depot Belicht ('Hushed Possession - Highlighting the Depot') draws attention to works of art that have long gone unnoticed in the depot. It is the first time in ages that a large part of these works has been brought to light.
The still life remains one of the most beloved themes among artists. With a centuries-long history, it is no wonder that the genre now takes many forms. A selection of more than 60 works in Museum De Buitenplaats shows that this versatility also applies to the modern still life. With more traditional still lifes, tranquil portraits, or even alienating looks at reality, the exhibition emphasizes the exceptional diversity between images filled with silence.
Verstild Bezit - Het Depot Belicht shows the work of Rien Beringer, Karl Blossfeldt, Donald Campbell, Kenne Grégoire, Otto B. de Kat, Jan van der Kooi, Urs Pfannenmüller, Tjerk Reijinga, Michael Reynolds, Matthijs Röling and Luzia Simons.

Drents Museum De Buitenplaats in Eelde is weer open! Onder een nieuwe naam en met een nieuwe koers. Vanaf 2024 is Drents Museum De Buitenplaats volwaardig onderdeel van het Drents Museum in Assen. In het vernieuwde museum krijgt de kust uit de art nouveau de hoofdrol, met als uitgangspunt de collectie kunst rond 1900 van het Drents Museum.
Het ensemble De Buitenplaats omvat het 20ste-eeuwse museumpaviljoen en vaste tuin én het 17de-eeuwse Nijsinghhuis met muurschilderingen van de Noordelijke Figuratieven. Het Drentse Landschap is eigenaar van het ensemble en draagt zorg voor het beheer.
