Veldwerk: The Ins and Outs of Bequests | February 12
About this activity.
Kunstpunt is organizing three Veldwerk meetings on bequests. This is the first in the series:
Art historian Miriam Windhausen conducted research for the Mondriaan Fund on the handling of artist bequests and advises artists, heirs, and foundations on everything involved in preparing, managing, inventorying, and archiving an estate. What financial, legal, and practical arrangements do you need to make? Using practical examples, we'll also explore solutions you might not have considered.

About Miriam Windhausen
Miriam Windhausen (born 1966) studied graphic design at the Utrecht School of the Arts (1989) and Modern Art History at the University of Amsterdam (2001). She has worked as an editor and author in the field of modern and contemporary art and as curator and head of collections for Museum Arnhem. Since 2017, she has established herself as an independent advisor on artists' legacies. From this specialization, she is both an expert by experience and a researcher, a catalyst, a mediator, and an exhibition maker. She also gives lectures and workshops on these topics. Starting in 2026, she will continue her practice in her great-grandparents' former artist's home in Roermond.
About Veldwerk
Veldwerk is Kunstpunt's expertise and research program. It brings together professionals from the field to discuss concrete questions about artistry and art in public spaces, delve deeper into them, and translate them into practice. Veldwerk is therefore a place for exchange, reflection, and experimentation. Participants share their experiences, test ideas, and develop new insights together. Themes such as legacy, participation, management, and career development are central.
