How do we (re)gain control of our digital lives? 

Artist Rein van der Woerd shares his experiments with self-hosting and building digital infrastructures that foster creativity and collaboration. In the introductory part of the workshop he reframes hosting as an accessible, sustainable and collective practice. He builds on his experience developing projects such as Solar Server and giving new life to re-/up-cycled hardware. The project is iteratively explored with the support of Creative Coding Utrecht, and in collaboration with artist and designer Marie Verdeil. 

During the workshop, you can rediscover the materiality of the digital space by building your own server. This workshop does not require any advanced technical skills. By the end of the workshop, you will walk out with a functioning server!
