17 May 2023 to 18 June 2023

About this activity.

Information about this exhibition:

Iris Koffijberg

Is a visual photographer specialized in abstract water photography, focusing on light, color and patterns.

It is the surprising play of the water that Iris tries to capture in her photography. A diversity of images with recurring themes such as chaos, harmony, lostness, struggle and magic, depending on her mood. The result is fascinating and magical at the same time, as if a gate is opening to a new reality!

Ton Kalishoek

A driven and versatile artist who has exhibited at various national and international galleries since 2012. He worked with modern materials from the world of the interior and furniture industry. He finished his often abstract objects with a sprayed layer of lacquer, but also with a metal coating, such as bronze and Corten steel.

Ton was fascinated by the invisible, the elusive; the difference in what you see and what you think you see! He turned away from the trend to see people as objects, and saw people as individuals! In his artworks he visualized this by placing the faceless human being in emotionally charged situations. From the question: who are these people, what drives them? What plays in his designs is that everything we see around us is composed of parts, of components. Nothing stands alone, image forms also evolve.

Ton passed away in May 2021.

Bennie Timmer

Works at the intersection of art, culture, education and teaching. In his work he shows a pictorial interest in his own environment, the Northern landscape.

Land, water, air, light and space are recurring themes in his work.

The Reitdiepdal is one of his important sources of inspiration for him; he incorporates the abstraction and vastness into his paintings. These balance on the border of realistic imagination and pure painting. His paintings are not created according to a set plan; sometimes a landscape is created in this way, but the result can also remain abstract; In any case, they provide insight into the origin of the large canvases, which also involve a process of searching, wiping and searching again. The exhibition in Forma Aktua consists of:

Colourfield paintings:

Series of works on a somewhat larger format (surfaces, soils, structures) that arise while painting from a game with visual aspects and materials and that result in fictional or non-fictional landscapes in which a personal memory or an association (a secret?) is hidden .

The Waterworks:

Paintings with the subject of water (surfaces, reflections, reflections), in which experiments with materials and techniques, as well as color, space, form, light images are created.
