The Collager III shows the work of eight collage artists from the Netherlands and abroad. The exhibition is curated by Peter Boersma for the third time. He has again selected artists who each use their own technique and create new stories by combining existing images. Every collage is handmade. This year too, a beautifully designed magazine will accompany the exhibition.

Alida Everts uses emptiness in her collages. Her unprejudiced handling of the collage technique produces fresh, highly personal work.

Anja Brunt makes collages and assemblages from old-fashioned cardboard train tickets, yellowed photos, broken toys and leftover cuttings. Wonder and humour shine through.

Dado Queiroz creates abstract collages. A common thread running through his compositions is the interplay between rationalist orthogonality and unpolished asymmetry.

Niels Kalk cuts and pastes collages in the traditional manner. His work is a unique mix of humour, disturbed images and encounters between different realities.

Pascal Verzijl creates multifaceted portrait collages. Animal and architectural elements emphasise the primitive and instinctive aspects of human nature.

Peter Boersma shows a series combining collage and décollage. He first creates an abstract collage. From this he sands or pulls layers to make visible what is underneath.

San van Thiel pays tribute to the millions of orphaned images that disappear into the paper mountain every day. Her STIEHL'S are dynamic compositions in blacks, greys and whites.

Simon Leahy-Clark shows microcollages of car wrecks. He creates these objects in decay by cutting up images and textures from newspaper photographs and reassembling them into a single image.

Galerie Noord.

Galerie Noord is een expositieruimte in hartje Groningen. Vierwekelijks bieden we kunstenaars uit het Noorden de mogelijkheid recent werk te tonen, solo of in kleine groepen. Galerie Noord richt zich op autonoom, experimenteel en onderzoekend werk in vrijwel alle disciplines. We willen bezoekers verrassen door tentoonstellingen te bieden met een wisselend karakter. 
 
Galerie Noord wordt volledig gerund door vrijwilligers. In 1997 werd de galerie opgericht als kunstenaarsinitiatief.
