Potato Party 2026

About this activity.

The Aardappelfeest (Potato Party) is coming up again! On Saturday 17 October 2026, Hornhuizen will be transformed into the potato capital of the Netherlands. This year’s slogan: Heel Holland prakt?
Because we’re eating fewer and fewer potatoes. And that’s a shame.

Potato art in the church, live music in Henk’s shed, a children’s programme for all the little spuds, potato expeditions, a potato talk show, cooking competition Heel Holland Prakt, local fries with mayo on the square or five courses served throughout the village: it’s all possible.

New this year is the Eigenheimer Stage, where local acts can perform. There’s also a potato pub quiz, a screen-printing workshop and a chance to felt your very own potato. In the evening, Alexander Moto and Marit Nygård en de Medemensen will take the stage, followed by the Aardappel Dance Event. Whether you’re coming for the music, the art or the spuds: Heel Holland prakt!
