About this activity.
For these artists, paper is an essential part of their work, not only as a surface for images but also as a material in its own right. Paper is more than a medium on which to draw and paint. Art can be created with, through, and on paper. Installations, collages, tear-off art, objects... these and other forms reveal both the strength and the fragility of this beautiful material.
The exhibition demonstrates that paper breathes and has a life of its own. The presentation can be viewed as an installation in which the individual artworks together tell a collective story. The great variety in approaches and techniques offers a multifaceted and surprising insight into the possibilities of this seemingly delicate yet enduring material.
The exhibiting artists are Josefien Alkema, Allie van Altena, Tim Blaauw, Peter Boersma, Peter Dijk, Rosa Everts, Kim Habers, Herman van Hoogdalem, Janke Klompmaker, Jeffrey Linker and Tienke Zijlstra.
