Marjo Postma allows her pencil to tell what her mind makes up. Her work is non-linear and comes into being without a preconceived plan. Movement in the air, on the ground, of plants, trees and especially the underwater world, has her greatest interest. The images she 'captures' in her work are a report of her encounters, dreams and adventures, of what her eyes see and her mind makes up. Characteristic of her work is that it consists of familiar and natural forms that on closer inspection are mysterious and enigmatic. Her view of nature is an  intimate, loving and humorous one, with respect for everything that grows and blossoms. A small detail can grow into an autonomous organism and architectural structures can become living beings just like that. With this playful look, she wants to stimulate the viewer's imagination.

Marjo Postma lives and works in Amsterdam. After being educated in drawing and textile, she attended the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten from 1982 to 1984. She won the Prix de Rome in 1984. Since then, she has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in the Netherlands and abroad. Her work is included in several collections. In Galerie Noord she shows work in various techniques: drawing, tufting, graphics and ceramics.

Galerie Noord.

Galerie Noord is een expositieruimte in hartje Groningen. Vierwekelijks bieden we kunstenaars uit het Noorden de mogelijkheid recent werk te tonen, solo of in kleine groepen. Galerie Noord richt zich op autonoom, experimenteel en onderzoekend werk in vrijwel alle disciplines. We willen bezoekers verrassen door tentoonstellingen te bieden met een wisselend karakter. 
 
Galerie Noord wordt volledig gerund door vrijwilligers. In 1997 werd de galerie opgericht als kunstenaarsinitiatief.
