Michiel Hoving – The Adventures of Varkentje Kkkunst…

Michiel Hoving (Groningen 1967) is a versatile Groningen-based animator, musician, filmmaker, and artist, best known as the creator of the popular animated series Varkentje Rund.

Since 2005, Hoving has been creating this absurd animated series for the NTR program Het Klokhuis.
By 2025, the series will have over 300 episodes, which he largely writes, draws, and voices from his studio in Groningen.

His work is known for its anarchistic, polder humor and socially critical themes, such as the episode about Groningen's natural gas problems, which received widespread attention.

His paintings are often narrative and cartoonish, but in this exhibition, he also explores other avenues. After all, it is The Adventures of Varkentje Kkkunst…
