From 1 to 31 May 2023, Lutz Anders, artist from Berlin, will exhibit an assemblage artwork 'Nagelsalon' in window gallery 'De Prachtvink' at shopping center Vinkhuizen, Platinalaan 505a, 9743 GZ Groningen.

Nagelsalon (Nail Saloon)  is an assemblage of cardboard, stamps, ink and metal from 2022. The size is 17.5 x 21 cm. The work was created as mail art. In a variation on the bas-relief, Anders has used the thickness of the cardboard to express a piece of wood. A small hammer drives five nails, wire nails, into this piece of wood. The undulating movement of the nail heads and the hammer creates a natural dynamic and movement. It seems that at any moment the hammer could strike further. By opting for brown, gray cardboard and fading, stylized capital letters, the artist expresses an ominous, loaded, industrial environment, which enters into an ironic word play with the soft ambiance of fingernail care. The work was part of the January 2023 issue of KLADBLOK magazine.

Lutz Anders (1956) is an artist from Berlin. He is graphically trained and has been active as an artist since 1976. His main profession is typography, but he likes to make trips to collage and mail art. Anders regularly organizes mail art calls himself, such as 'Life is a cabaret' in 2022, in which hundreds of artists from 43 countries participated.

The window gallery is an exhibition space that can only be viewed from the outside, but 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The gallery is illuminated until 11:00 PM.

Every month a new work of art by an artist is exhibited.
