A walk through the famous 'portici' of Bologna (Italy) reveals an architectural landscape whose interpretative solutions are manifold.
The rhythmic alternation of planes, shades, colors, solids and voids in the endless colonnades create an ongoing dialectic between light and shadow, openness and shelter, whereby the solid verticals and filtered light remind of a walk in a leafless forest.
