Klassieke Academie Graduation Exhibition at Pictura

Pictura
1 July 2026 to 19 July 2026

About this activity.

From July 1 through July 19, 16 graduating students from the Klassieke Academie in Groningen will exhibit their graduation projects at Kunstlievend Genootschap Pictura in Groningen. The Klassieke Academie trains students to become visual artists over the course of five years, with classes taught by professional artists. This year’s graduation work is once again highly diverse in nature, with personal motifs, observations, spiritual experiences, and inspiring stories leading to individuality and expression in style and technique.

The final exhibition, together with the catalog, marks the end of a program of study, but also the beginning of a career as a visual artist. For five years, they have sought new insights, honed their skills, and developed a vision that raises the question: “Who am I in this jungle of artistic expression?” In the graduates’ personal texts in the catalog, visitors can read about their motivations, research, and inspiration.

Students come from all corners of the Netherlands to the Klassieke Academie in Groningen to pursue their studies. Several alumni have successfully participated in national television programs such as “Project Rembrandt,” “Sterren op het Doek,” and “De Gezonken Meesters.” Their work finds its way into the art world in various ways, with presentations in the gallery circuit and art fairs such as PAN or MEAM Barcelona.

Klassieke academie.
