Josefien Alkema: Walk in Paper

About this activity.

With her works or art Josefien Alkema takes the visitor on a walk through a unique landscape, in which there is attention for organic structures and the dynamics of wind, water and light. Josefien Alkema shows drawings, collages and paper sculptures. By folding and modelling with paper new shapes occur that she calls ‘cosmic ornaments’: paper sculptures who are mysterious and abstract, but also touchable and earthly. They give shape to experiences wherefore there are no words.

Pictura.

Het Kunstlievend Genootschap Pictura in Groningen werd opgericht in 1832 met als doel: 'de beeldende kunst en de nijverheidskunst in de ruimste zin van het woord aan te moedigen en te bevorderen.' Pictura is gehuisvest in een mooi, monumentaal pand aan het Martinikerkhof in Groningen. In de sfeervolle zalen exposeren professionele kunstenaars van uiteenlopende richtingen en disciplines, maar de hoofdmoot is figuratief.
