The depot is the treasure trove of Museum Nienoord! Here we store the national collection of carriages and sleds. They have left their mark on time. Sometimes literally, but also figuratively. If only they could tell us what they have witnessed… Their technology can be recognized to this day in today’s cars and trains.

With the museum presentation Travel, Craft & Ambition, we tell a story that everyone is a part of. This largely takes place on the street, where people meet one another. One person travels long distances, for work or trade, to other countries and cultures. Others go to visit family, to work, or to church. At the same time, it is about our current times, in which travel has become commonplace for many people, for pleasure, to acquire knowledge, or out of duty. Although circumstances sometimes force departure, and the traveler seeks safety and a better existence.
