Hannibal Bokaal
About this activity.
Throughout May, four young artists will compete in the Forma Aktua gallery in Groningen for the famous 'Hannibal Bokaal'. It concerns a follow-up to 2021, in which 4 artists have been selected from 12 young exhibitors. It concerns Satja Jurc Blagovic, Lieve van Meegen, Marijke Klaver and Roos Vink.
The first 3 exhibitors are chosen by the professional jury, the last by the public jury.
The jury is made up of artist, writer and art columnist Eric Bos, Han Steenbruggen director Museum Belvédère in Heerenveen, Mariëtta Jansen director Museum De Buitenplaats in Eelde, Gerke van Dam, acting chairman Forma Aktua and John Versteege, chairman exhibition committee Forma Aktua.
The Hannibal Cup is named after Henri de Wolf, who founded Forma Aktua 40 years ago. He was called 'Hannibal' by his friends. On the occasion of this anniversary, the 'Feast for the Flag' will take place at the gallery on May 29. This artwork 'the Flag' is a design by Hannibal.
At this festive gathering, the 4 exhibitors show work for which they received 'Search' as a guideline from the board of Forma Aktua; they have started working on this. The result can be seen from April 27 to May 29 in Forma Aktua. The public is invited during this period to vote in the gallery. The official opening was on Sunday 1 May with guitar music by Joost Meijer.
The winner of the Hannibal Bokaal, selected by the professional jury, and the winner of the public jury, will be announced on Sunday 29 May at 2.30 pm.
The whole is framed by live music and a snack and a drink.
