About this activity.

The exhibition Gronings Licht ("Groningen Light") is based on Pieter de Hart's documentary of the same name about five artists: Anke Roder, Isabella Werkhoven, Geurt Busser, Henk Helmantel, and Matthijs Röling.

What exactly is Groningen light? Bright, diffused, low, and changeable are terms often used to describe it. Is the light truly different here, or do we experience it this way because of the vastness of the land and the ability to often see far into the distance? For Roder, it's the skies, Werkhoven seeks the mystical moment, Busser finds it on the Wadden Sea, Helmantel through his studio windows, and Röling filtered through the trees in his garden. Discover in this exhibition how each of these artists pays tribute to the light of Groningen in their own way.

The documentary Gronings Licht (approximately 25 minutes) can be seen in the cinema of Museum Wierdenland.
