Fragility is everywhere around us: in nature, in materials, in human relationships, and in our own vulnerability.
In nature, we see it in the delicate structure of a spider’s web or the fleeting bloom of a flower. In materials, we recognize it in glass that shatters under pressure, but also in the resilience of paper that bends without breaking. In human relationships, we experience fragility as the vulnerability that connects us: a word, a glance, or a silence can change everything. And in our own vulnerability, we discover that it is precisely our fragility that makes us human — it is the space where growth, empathy, and connection emerge. Fragility is therefore not weakness, but a strength that teaches us to engage with life carefully and consciously.
Frêle is a diverse exhibition featuring the work of fifteen artists, both from De Biotoop and beyond, presenting a combination of existing works and newly developed site-specific pieces.

KEL-30 is an experimental exhibition space for contemporary visual art, located in the basement of Building C at De Biotoop in Haren. With an area of 800 m², the space offers extensive possibilities for large-scale installations, multidisciplinary work, and process-oriented presentations.
Created from the need for an accessible place dedicated to experimentation and artistic development, KEL-30 serves as a platform for both established and emerging artists. Its program focuses on collaboration, research, and exchange — locally, nationally, and internationally.
The space is wheelchair accessible and free to visit during exhibitions.

KEL-30 is een experimentele tentoonstellingsruimte voor hedendaagse beeldende kunst, gevestigd in de kelder van gebouw C van De Biotoop in Haren. Met een oppervlakte van 800 m² biedt de ruimte volop mogelijkheden voor grootschalige installaties, multidisciplinair werk en procesgerichte presentaties.
Ontstaan uit de behoefte aan een toegankelijke plek voor experiment en artistieke ontwikkeling, fungeert KEL-30 als platform voor zowel gevestigde als opkomende kunstenaars. De programmering richt zich op samenwerking, onderzoek en uitwisseling – lokaal, nationaal én internationaal.
De ruimte is rolstoeltoegankelijk en vrij toegankelijk tijdens tentoonstellingen.
