About this activity.
The series of exhibitions Studio Collection:Solo (Aterliercollectie:Solo) shows works of art straight from the studio of artists. And the nice thing is, almost all works can be borrowed or for sale in the Kunstuitleen of Kunstpunt Groningen. Artist Kristi Neider is the second in the series with Stad En Meer.
Virtually all of Kristi Neider's work has its origins in her daily life in the city of Groningen. She made a beautiful linocut of a sunny day at the Hoornseplas, Summer Before, but also a rainy tennis court led to a print; The Stadjershal. The Stadsschouwburg has been established, the hockey field and the Helperbad. Her most recent work is also on display: the colorful lino Der Aa church, in which almost the entire image is taken up by the leaf of one of the enormous trees next to the famous church.
About Kristi Neider
Kristi Neider (Tartu, Estonia, 1976) attended the Art Academy in Tallinn. She specializes in the liberal arts and printmaking. She has lived and worked in Groningen for 12 years. For the last five years she has focused on relief printing and varies with linocut.
Kristi Neider's choice
In addition to her own paintings, the exhibition also includes Kristi Neider's Choice, in which the artist presents a selection of her favorite works from the Kunstuitleen. Neider: “I chose people in my selection. Especially in this period when we have to keep distance from each other and when we see each other at a distance, often the face is partially covered, it is important to see how it was again. This gives me the feeling of humanity again. Breaks briefly the loneliness that many people feel. For me a striking collection. Especially considering my work, which was partly created before the lockdown and partly during the lockdown. In the beginning with people. ”
