28-02 to 24-03 Pieter Griffioen, Eastern Bloc and Moscow, 1986-1991

Pieter Griffioen: "The photo series was made in two time periods; The Eastern Bloc between 1986 and 1989, and Moscow again in 1991. As a participant in working weeks of Fotowerkgroep Sinus in 's-Hertogenbosch, I visited East Berlin in 1986, Moscow in 1987, Budapest in 1988 and Prague in 1989. Through travel agency Kontakt, specialized in travel to the Eastern Bloc, we stayed in one of these capitals for a week each time. We started working individually, but at the end a selection of the work made since 1989 was exhibited several times under the name Objectief op het Oosten."

In the exhibition Eastern Bloc and Moscow, Pieter Griffioen's work is not grouped chronologically but by subject. The opening of the exhibition will be on Saturday, March 2, in the presence of the photographer.
