Museum Klooster Ter Apel
16 April 2023 to 5 November 2023

About this activity.

Between 1587 and 1597, three witch trials took place in the Westerwolde region, killing 23 people. Due to the high number of victims, these witch trials have entered the history books as some of the most deadly witch trials in the Netherlands. It is a story of religion, money and power.

The exhibition focuses on the convicted women and men and is given a face by means of impressive images that  Ludmilla van der Spoel, visual artist from Enschede, has made for this purpose.
