Susanne Luurs explores the fertile soil and water. She searches for the connections between femininity and the ground beneath our feet. She likes to work in the in-between area where land meets sea. For this exhibition she invited ten makers to accompany her to the northernmost part of Groningen. Together they went on an expedition and recorded a performance. The images of the performance and the work that all made based on those experiences on the mudflats are exhibited during Bodily Landscape.

Susanne Luurs (1994) lives and works in Groningen. Last year she graduated from Art Academy Minerva where she won the art education prize. Since then she has worked as a visual artist and as an artist in education.

ACTIVITIES

  • August 11: performance + a workshop with oysters -  felting, modeling and painting
  • August 24: performance + a salty vegetable tasting with matching drinks
  • August 26: performance + a lesson about the mudflats with books and a drink with snacks of local food

Susanne will be in the gallery on 7, 10, 11, 24 and 31 August.

Galerie Noord.

Galerie Noord is een expositieruimte in hartje Groningen. Vierwekelijks bieden we kunstenaars uit het Noorden de mogelijkheid recent werk te tonen, solo of in kleine groepen. Galerie Noord richt zich op autonoom, experimenteel en onderzoekend werk in vrijwel alle disciplines. We willen bezoekers verrassen door tentoonstellingen te bieden met een wisselend karakter. 
 
Galerie Noord wordt volledig gerund door vrijwilligers. In 1997 werd de galerie opgericht als kunstenaarsinitiatief.
