An exciting/ interesting/ challenging/ difficult* combination: the work of artist Jan Hoving, who died in 2020 at the age of 82, and the two art school generations younger Flip Drukker. From the first we show a selection from a stack of hundreds of drawings on 70 x 100 cm paper**, from the other objects, assembled with old, worn materials and objects. See here the meeting of two free spirits who let their imagination and creativity run wild, without neglecting the content.

Flip Drukker
The objects and assemblages of Flip Drukker (Goes 1949) usually consist of materials and objects that already have a life behind them. He creates poems in form, which he calls 'poëmages'. His works are an intimate plea for the power of imagination and the blowing of the mind.
Jan Hoving
After a conceptual way of working, Jan Hoving decided in the early 1980s, to work more freely and spontaneously. He uses "oilsticks," oil paint in the form of thick crayons. Not hindered by brush or palette knife, he works directly with his hands in a figurative-expressionist style. Art is to play with, is his motto.

Galerie Noord richt zich op autonoom, experimenteel en onderzoekend werk in vrijwel alle disciplines. We willen bezoekers verrassen door tentoonstellingen te bieden met een wisselend karakter.
Galerie Noord wordt volledig gerund door vrijwilligers. In 1997 werd de galerie opgericht als kunstenaarsinitiatief.
