The art committee of Groningen Province wanted to create a tribute to the work of muskrat catchers. The reason was that one of committee’s purposes is to provide insight into what the province does.
Within three months Maartje Roos had made a group portrait of the muskrat catchers and a photo book. Provincial Secretary Henk-Jan Bolding revealed the results on 21 April 2011 with the muskrat catchers in attendance. After an initial presentation, the work was given a permanent place in the provincial government building.
